The Deal

This six-course taster menu carefully balances gourmet flavours, allowing diners to savour all manner of the restaurant's Michelin-recommended cuisine. Meals begin with an amuse bouche to get the palate warmed up, before dishes including pheasant, blowtorch mackerel and pork belly. A bonfire toffee parfait makes for a sweet finishing treat, while guests can choose to add an additional mushroom dish or a cheese platter to boot.

The Merchant

Design House Restaurant serves up innovative cuisine that's warranted two AA rosettes, a recommendation in the Michelin Guide and the title Restaurant of the Year from the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards 2013. Chef Ben Varley is an ex-competitor in Masterchef - The Professionals, and now works alongside Dave Duttine at the head of the kicthen. Both boldly flavoured and subtle dishes showcase seasonal and locally sourced produce where possible, with a la carte and table d'hote dining, as wall as taster menus. Fare is complimented by stylish decor and a sophisticated and relaxed ambience.

Guests were generally impressed with the flavours, with many enjoying the tasting menu experience in particular.
