About The Guards Museum
Located in Wellington Barracks, close to Buckingham Palace, the Guards Museum was opened in 1988 to house a wealth of information and historic items charting the Foot Guards' history from the 17th century up to the present day. Made up of the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards regiments, the Foot Guard, along with the two regiments of Household Cavalry, are the soldiers that guard the Royal Palaces and the reigning monarch, while also forming an elite force when fighting as part of the army.
