The Deal

Diners seeking something out of the ordinary can indulge in starters such as pan-fried scallops with confit duck torte and carrot and orange butter sauce (usually £8.95), or veal carpaccio with spiced pear, served in a parmesan basket with a rocket and cress salad (£8.50). Main courses are equally as creative and include Lough Erne lamb with haricot beans and a Toulouse sausage cassoulet (£22.95), or Country Down duck breast with sweet potato purée, broccoli and anise jus (£18.95). Meals finish on a sweet note with desserts such as strawberry and dark chocolate parfait (£6.95) and a mixed Irish and French cheeseboard with apple and grape chutney (£7.95). Last but not least, diners will be treated to a cocktail (up to £8.95) and a cup of coffee (£1.85).

The Merchant

Located in House of Fraser, The Ivory is a concept restaurant and bar as well as one of Belfast’s most exiting gastronomic hangouts. The establishment’s key attraction is its rooftop location, complete with a terraced dining space overlooking all the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Complementing the unique placement is a varied menu of modern Northern Irish cuisine punctuated by select flavours and preparations from across the globe. Live music is also a feature of the venue, with rockabilly, blues and jazz nights held throughout the year.
