Flavours of home abound in this meal of British cuisine. Guests can tuck into beer-battered cod and chips (usually £10.50), locally-sourced pork sausages with creamy mash (£10.50), or poached or chargrilled salmon fillets with hollandiase sauce (£11.95). Vegetable options include mushroom stroganoff (£8.95), and 10oz sirloin steak, large cod or lamb chops are available for a surcharge of £3.50. Mains will be served with a small glass of house wine (£3.25) or soft drink. Dietary requests can be made upon booking, and meals are available Wednesday to Saturday.

The Merchant
Timbers Restaurant serves meals and refreshments within a 17th-century barn set amid the Braintree countryside. The eatery offers hearty classics such as burgers and scampi, as well as lighter sandwiches and an array of children’s favourites. The interior features wooden furnishings, candlelight and period décor. The venue hosts live music and seasonal events throughout the year, as well as weddings and parties for up to 100 guests.

Restrictions: Valid Wed-Sat 5pm-8.30pm. Last orders at 8.30pm. Non-alcoholic Beverages can be swapped for the small glass of house wine. Must be 18 or older for alcohol or soft drink will be provided as an alternative. Must advise on booking of any specialist dietary requirements. Valid for any main meal off the evening menu. £3.50 surcharge for 10oz Sirloin Steak, Large cod or Lamb Chops. Valid on option purchased only.
