G: What's the course like?
It's a classic parkland course on the northern edge of the Pentland Hills, with a fair mix of three- and four-par holes and a couple of lengthy par fives thrown in for good measure. From the 15th tee of the course, which is higher than Arthur's Seat, golfers have a panoramic view of the surrounding sights, including the Firth of Forth, Ben Lomond and Bass Rock.

Visitors are always welcome at Torphin Hill Golf Club, but the club also offers a wide range of membership opportunities for all ages. The club prides itself on being forward thinking while maintaining the traditional standards of golfing etiquette. It encourages junior members to participate in free coaching weeks during Easter and the summer school holidays.

There is a bar and restaurant serving a wide selection of drinks and snacks. There's also a pool table for those keen to keep sinking shots when off the greens. It's also the social hub of the club, and plays host to regular quiz nights and other events.
