WEST is the vision of Bavaria-born Petra Wetzel, who first came to Glasgow to study at University. Born from the idea that Glasgow deserved a premium beer that it could be proud of, the original concept for WEST was to be a beerhall and restaurant similar to those found all over rural Bavaria, serving beer brewed on-site and a German-inspired menu in an environment that could be enjoyed by the whole family - even the dog!

What started as a quirky wee brewery in one of Glasgow's most beautiful buildings, making beer only to serve in its own bar, is now producing 25,000 hectolitres a year and supplying thousands of bars, restaurants, hotels, shops and supermarkets across Scotland and beyond (even Hong Kong)!

Our brewery tours give you not only a glimpse of how the magic happens, but a real flavour for the beer of which we are so proud. Walk through our two on-site breweries, learn how we make such a diverse range of beer using only four ingredients and sample the beer along the way.
