The Deal
Children can enrol on a choice of activity camp this summer, with various options available over three, four or five days at a selection of locations around the Gateshead area. Athletics camps look to build on track and field skills such as running, jumping and throwing, with plenty of games for good measure. The sports camps mix things up across various disciplines, with swimming, dodgeball and trampoline featuring alongside the likes of football, badminton and basketball. Alternatively, the Adrenaline Daze camps let kids try their hand at tubing, archery, climbing, and sledging. An assault course and niteline will also be on-hand, with participants able to have to a go at developing problem solving and orienteering skills.

The Merchant
Whickham Thorns Outdoor Activity Centre forms part of Gatehead Council’s range of leisure venues. Located in Dunston, the venue offers the likes of snowboarding, climbing and archery with drop-in sessions and parties also available.

Restrictions: Sports Camp open times: Mon–Fri 9am–4pm. Athletics Camp open times: 9.30am–3.30pm. These athletics camps will take place outdoors. Adrenalin Daze camp open Times: 10am–3.30pm. A number of these sessions take place outdoors and children must come to the day wearing long sleeved tops, long trousers and a pair of gloves. This is an outdoor activity centre and activities will take even during inclement weather. Must drop off child 10 minutes before the camps starts and pick up at the end of the day. Must be aged 8-14 years old. New customers only. Parents must complete health questionnaire. Equipment provided. Lunch is not provided but children will be supervised throughout the lunch period. Not all activities will take place at all sites. Valid on option purchased only.
