• Join York Bird of prey centre for a special evening surrounded by majestic owls and birds of prey. Your evening starts at 6.30 pm greeting some of their owls which you will be able to handle.

• Next, head to a guided tour of the centre which is illuminated to give you the view of birds as they fly around their homes.

• Take a break in the birdhouse cafe, which has a choice of Panini, Hotdog or Sandwich served with a hot drink and a slice of cake.

• Now for the next aspect of the evening, heading to the flying arena which is famous and recommended for flying demonstrations. They will fly several species of owls and birds of prey including the British Tawny and Barn Owl known for their nighttime flying. You can get an opportunity to fly the birds in their natural setting.

• End your evening by handling a selection of Eagles at approximately 9 p.m.

• The center is illuminated, setting the stage for an ideal ambiance and providing numerous opportunities for photographers to capture both static and flight shots.

• They have scheduled only ten of these special winter evenings, with limited slots available for each one to ensure that you enjoy the experience.

• This distinctive event is essential for anyone who admires owls and birds of prey. Whether you want to indulge yourself, surprise a loved one, or bring the whole family along, it's an opportunity to create memories.

York bird of prey centre Overview

Opened in 2013, York Bird of Prey Centre welcomes guests with a range of experiences that see them interact with the feathered residents. Enthusiasts can take a falconry course, go on a hawk walk, or enjoy an owl experience, available all year round. The centre goes on the road with its birds to cater for educational school visits, fetes, corporate events, and more. The centre offers a gift shop and a cage selling hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and confectionery. They have private flying displays available at Burn Hall or the location of your choice, either indoor or outdoor.
