We REALLY enjoyed our pie, chips, peas and gravy, I mean how can you go overboard over such a simple dish, but we did! The chips were better than what I dish up they were fluffy and crisp on the outside and the pie ( I think it was home made!)had LOTS of meat in it and a suitable amount of tasty gravy, the pastry was gorgeous with a jug of gravy beside! Plenty of deserts to choose from, my husband had the apple crumble with a good dollop of vanilla ice cream. I was very good I had none got to watch the calories! The location of the Jolly Sailor is beautiful. The owner is very pleasant, cheerful and friendly.

My husband and I had just about one of the best pub pies we've ever had - proper all round crust and not just stew with a pastry lid stuck on the top. Top quality and even more amazing value when including the glass of wine in this offer. Having lived nearish, we'd never been to the Jolly Sailor and although it was quiet when we went - we can see the potential for amazing summer dining with it being right on the riverside lock. The host was very friendly - we will be back to sample the curries made by Mantra - one of our fave Indian restaurants in Bath.

The setting of the Jolly Sailor is next to the river and perfect for a sunny day. We sat in the bar area which was pleasant and we enjoyed the curry very much. The meal also included a glass of wine which was good. All in all good food and excellent value for money.

Walked from Bitton railway station alongside the heritage line to Salford (about an hour) Delightful meal at Jolly Sailor before returning to start. Fish and Chips were great. Came with fries as standard but I discovered I could have asked for thick chips if i had thought about it. Will happily go there again

Very good food but very limited selection on menu. At the time we were told there were no fish and chips and no curry so not much to chose from.
