About Fishbourne Roman Palace & Gardens
Fishbourne Roman Palace & Gardens immerses visitors in opulent Roman grandeur at one of the largest surviving residences of that era. The site features original mosaic floor patterns, preserving the intricate work of ancient artists. Outside, the extensive gardens provide guests with further insight into how the site may have appeared to its original owners. The plant beds have been replanted in their original 1st-century trenches, and demonstrate a striking example of one of the earliest formal gardens found in the country. Visitors can also stop by the cafe to refresh with a choice of cake slices and a regular filtered coffee or pot of tea for adults, or a carton of juice for children.
