About Bala Lake Railway

Appreciating the local heritage, the team running Bala Lake Railway are eager to share their knowledge with curious visitors as they organise nine-mile return trips between the villages of Llanuwchllyn and Bala. As guests enjoy their leisurely steam railway experience, they can explore the countryside alongside Bala Lake, as well as Arthurian legends surrounding the Roman fort of Caer Gai. The Llanuwchllyn station features an original Great Western signal box, and offers facilities such as a gift shop and picnic tables.
