About ABBOTSBURY SUBTROPICAL GARDENS - Abbotsbury Tourism Ltd
Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens form part of an extensive site of attractions just outside Abbotsbury village, along with the swannery and children's farm. Initially established in 1765, the gardens feature views of the Jurassic Coast as well as a host of formal and informal flowers, including camellia, magnolias, rhododendron and hydrangea. A Victorian garden, restaurant and gift shop are available on-site, which also serves as a venue for regular events. The swannery and children's farms offer an array of activities for little ones, situated on parts of the former Abbotsbury monastery grounds, originally founded by Benedictine monks in the 1040s.
