About This Deal
The Deal
The Edwardian elegance of Drayton Old Lodge provides an apt setting for this afternoon tea for two (usually £19 each). Glasses of sparkling rosé can be clinked over three tiers of British tradition, and pairs are served either a freshly brewed pot of tea or a cafetiere of coffee to accompany the spread. Sandwiches of mature cheddar and pickle, beef and horseradish are complemented by other savouries such as cheese scones, pinwheels of smoked salmon, cheese and paprika straws and homemade sausage rolls. Sweeter bites are provided by slices of freshly baked cake and fruit scones with plenty of clotted cream and jam.
The Merchant
Residing amid a ten-acre woodland estate, Drayton Old Lodge preserves a touch of period grandeur within its walls, the better to host weddings, special occasions and fine dining. Visitors to the manor house's historic grounds can encounter the 15th-century ruins of Sir John Fastolf’s original property, the stone structure of which was partially destroyed during the War of the Roses.
Reviews
Drayton Old Lodge has scored an impressive 4.5/5 stars on TripAdvisor. Reviewers praised the atmosphere and the quality of the food, and the afternoon teas received particular praise.
