18TH JULY - 19TH 20TH 21ST 22ND JULY 2024 Five Day Beginners Sewing Course The course will start on Thursday 18TH JULY 2024 and will start at 10am each day and finish at 15:00. The course is five days long location Bolton Arena. You will get free parking at the event. 

Sewing machines provided to use on the course, fabrics, accessories, patterns all provided.

The first day you will be making samples after learning how to use the sewing machine. You will learn how to do zips, pockets, button holes and buttons.

You will learn how to set the machine up, basic stitching. You will then cut out a Miss Mills pattern learn the basics of pattern cutting grain lines etc. You will learn how to make a garment from start to finish, with professional finishings and learning to use the overlocker. 

All Miss Mills patterns are graded to fit all sizes you will leave the course with a dress you have made, after you finish this course you will be able to use a sewing machine and make the same dress again in your own time. This course will start you on your sewing journey.

On the course everyone will be following the same brief, small group classes, everyone will be working on a Miss Mills pattern only. The price works out £100 pounds per day this includes the use of a Janome sewing machine straight from Janome HQ. All full size patterns to use on the course, and fabric one dress design uses 6 metres of fabric and most people on the five day course leave with two garments, they have made. You are also learning with a fashion designer who has a degree in fashion BA (Hons) had years of experience designing for her brand with Topshop, Asos and Silkfred. 

On this course you are learning more than what they teach in university, in one year for 10k! 

The skills you learn on this course can be applied to any pattern and can get you started on your sewing journey. You will learn different techniques like gathering and understanding how you apply this techniques on different designs. This is just one example of what you will learn.

You will NOT be able to bring in your own projects at any point on the course. You will also not be able to change the pattern, as that is moving into pattern cutting. All patterns have been graded to UK sizes, we will not be doing individual measurements as this is going into tailoring.
