Diners get their pick of either a pizza or pasta dish, bringing some Italian flare to lunchtime. Pasta dishes include the linguine polpette with meatballs, penne Michelino with pancetta, chilli and pine nuts (both usually £7.95), and scallopini, with pan-seared scallops and baby prawns (£9.95). Meanwhile, pizzas include a diavolo with tomato, spicy beef and pepperoni (£7.95), or classic Margherita (£5.95). A glass of wine (£3.65) for each person will also complete the meal.

Bringing a taste of Italy to the shores of Whitley Bay, Michelino’s serves an array of dishes to parties of all sizes. The contemporary restaurant, complete with features such as a chandelier and leather seats, sits just a short stroll from the coast. Evening specials, happy hour and a la carte menus are available throughout the week, while home delivery is provided for those to wish to enjoy Italian flavours from their own home.

The delicious dishes and entertainment were all praised, but considerable applause went to the attentive staff who made customers feel welcome.   Elsewhere, the restaurant has also picked up a considerable social media presence with over 1,200 likes on Facebook and over 1,300 followers on Twitter.
