Cairo is one of the largest cities in the world and spans the length of both sides of the Nile.

DAY 2: CAIRO

Set off to visit the Giza Plateau and its incredible pyramids:
The Great Pyramid of Giza (the largest of the three, built around 2650 B.C.), one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to have withstood the test of time. For more than 40 centuries, it was the highest monument built by man at 146m high.
Khephren: the Pyramid of Khephren or Khafre looks taller than Giza, but in reality it is slightly smaller. The tilt angle is more emphasised, and it sits on slightly higher ground which is what creates this impression.
Menkaure: the tomb of King Menkaure. At a height of 66m, it is much smaller than the other two pyramids.
The Sphinx: a lion's body with a Pharaoh's head. Its role was to guard the entrance of the tomb against pillagers. It is 73 m long and 20 m high.

The afternoon will be spent visiting the sites of Memphis and Saccara. Memphis, in the south of Cairo, is now a palm grove where several stone blocks, tablets and statues lie, including the iconic Alabaster Sphinx, capital of the Old Egyptian Empire, and was founded by King Menes around 3000 B.C. On to the site of Saqqarah and the famous Step Pyramid, built around 2700 B.C. for the pharaoh Djoser by the architect Imhotep.

DAY 3: CAIRO - AIN SOKHNA

Breakfast, transfer to your hotel in Ain Sokhna.

Check-in at the hotel and the rest of the day is free so you can relax in the comfortable facilities of the hotel on a full board basis. Ain Sokhna is located 120 kilometres east of Cairo, 55 km from Suez, Ain Sokhna owes its name to the sulphur springs, Ain Sokhna meaning hot spring in English.

Between the sandy hills and the sea, this city has a beautiful sandy beach with its calm and clear waters, which makes it the premier seaside resort of Cairo. Enjoy the dolphins swimming from the Red Sea to the Suez Canal in search of food. The most daring tourists even swim with them.
Divers will enjoy the turquoise waters of the Red Sea, where they can see marine life and coral reefs. Anybody who wants to try their hand at windsurfing can get off to a gentle start thanks to a light breeze.
