At TMS Car Control and Handling School, they offer an exciting opportunity to experience advanced driving at Tockwith Motorsports Centre, featuring our state-of-the-art skid pan!

Upon arrival at the venue near York, you'll meet their experienced team of instructors, all of whom have racing or rallying backgrounds and are qualified ARDS or BARS instructors. They specialize in teaching drivers of all experience levels the art of car control. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned driver, this experience is tailored to suit all levels of skill and confidence.

Before heading out onto the skid pan, you'll attend a short safety briefing to ensure you're ready for an enjoyable experience.

What to Expect:

• First Driving Session:
  Begin by testing the car on the circuit to understand how easily control can be lost.
• In-Car and Classroom Training:
  Learn the fundamentals of skid control, covering:
  • Front-wheel, rear-wheel, and four-wheel skids
  • Weight transfer, spins, oversteer, and understeer

Their instructors will also guide you through techniques like Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) and cadence braking, crucial for navigating hazardous road conditions.

• Second Driving Session:
  Apply your newfound knowledge and skills back to the circuit.

Overview:

• Control skids and slides — Lose control to gain control
• Learn essential steering and braking skills
• Compete for Driver of the Day and a chance to win a complimentary experience!

What's Included:

• Environment to practice reactions to adverse conditions
• Drive standard manual road cars on a low-grip skid pan (no cradles used)
• 1-hour course duration
• Experience operates on a 3:1 driver ratio (drivers alternate as passengers unless a 1:1 package is purchased)
• Group sizes of up to 6 drivers across 2 cars

Itinerary:

1. Welcome, introduction, and safety briefing
